Program Highlights

  • There are many great career opportunities based on the Management concentration. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2006 salary survey states the average starting salary for workers with a bachelor’s degree in business management is $39,850. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of available jobs in business management is expected to grow by 17% through 2014.
  • There is financial help for students who meet the academic GPA guidelines; students can apply for CSUDH scholarships at the Financial Aid Office’s web page.
  • Students may obtain advice from faculty about tailoring their academic management program.
  • The management concentration prepares students for general management positions in either public or private organizations. The curriculum for undergraduate management students offers key management courses such as: human resource management, organizational behavior, leadership, small business management, international management, strategic communication, and the strategic management seminar. Additionally, there are two required electives that can be taken from the general business curriculum that will expose you to other forms of business studies besides management.
  • The management concentration offers a course that deals with global activities and management in International Management. Also, in the general business required courses, a business student will have international business that covers uncertainties and difficulties in conducting business in foreign countries.
  • The management concentration has a course in organizational behavior that deals with causes and consequences of a persons’ behavior in business relations including conflict resolution.
  • The management concentration provides many opportunities to learn about various business industries and functional areas to individuals with vision and the talent for managing change.
  • Students are encouraged to do Internships consisting of practical work experiences where students apply their management skills. Students are also encouraged to find a company where they can do an internship.
